Handmade by Hiroyuki Tomita in Kanagawa, Japan
The box features a clean, geometric base contrasted by a lid with an organic, flowing surface. The lid is adorned with a triad of finishes—deep red, shimmering gold, and metallic silver—that seamlessly blend into one another, creating a dynamic interplay of color and texture. The contrast between the smooth base and the textured lid adds depth and visual interest.
While the box is ideal for storing small items, its aesthetic appeal makes it equally suited as a decorative object. The lid fits securely, making it both practical and visually intriguing.
Dimensions: w-11cm x h-11cm
Hiroyuki Tomita creates a wide range of work, from everyday functional wares to large sculptural works. He also makes large-scale decorative tiles for walls of hotels and inns. Traditional ceramic art plays an important role in his making but he also values new perspectives and creativity a lot. This can be seen in his tablewares. They are bold in colour and made to not only serve the food but also decorate the dining tables.
